Profile management in ClearHire is the system that stores your career as structured data across seven sections — experience, education, projects, skills, languages, certifications, and awards — so it can be reused across resumes, job matching, and verification. It replaces the habit of keeping your "real" resume in one document and copy-pasting from it; in ClearHire, the profile is the canonical record and every output is generated from it.

How the profile powers the rest of ClearHire
- Resumes: The resume builder reads your profile and lets you pick which sections and entries to show per job, then exports to PDF or DOCX.
- Job search: Your skills and experience inform filtering and matching.
- Verification: Each experience entry can carry a "Verified" badge once confirmed through employment verification.
- Career tools: The ATS checker, cover-letter generator, and other career tools operate on your profile data.
- Analytics: Your analytics reflect activity tied to your profile, such as profile views and resume downloads.
Editing and keeping it current
You can add, edit, reorder, and remove entries at any time. Because outputs are generated on demand, an edit to your profile is immediately available to the next resume you build — there is no separate file to update. The most valuable habit is to update your experience and skills whenever a role changes, so a current CV is always one export away.
What profile management does not do
Honesty matters here. Profile management:
- Does not validate your claims by itself. Entering a job title does not make it verified; verification is a separate, employer-driven step.
- Does not auto-import your history. You add your own entries (or refine generated text); ClearHire does not silently scrape external accounts.
- Does not guarantee job matches. Skills improve relevance, but matching depends on available jobs and employer criteria.
Privacy and control
Your profile lives in your ClearHire account and is stored in Firestore. You decide which resumes to export and send, and verification shares only what is needed with the employer you ask. Files you attach (for projects or portfolio) are uploaded to FilesHub storage. FAQ
Is the profile the same as a resume?
No. The profile is the structured source of truth; a resume is a formatted output generated from selected profile sections in the resume builder.
How many experience entries can I add?
Add as many as you need to represent your history. You choose which appear on any given resume, so a long profile does not force a long CV.
Can I attach files to my profile?
Yes, in the projects/portfolio area. Files are stored in FilesHub. See career tools for how portfolio items surface.
Do skills have to match a job exactly?
No, but accurate skills improve job search relevance and your score in the ATS checker. List skills you genuinely have rather than padding.
What happens to my profile when I delete my account?
It is removed as part of the in-app account-deletion flow. Export anything you want to keep first — see data export and deletion.
