ClearHire on a Phone: The App View

The app view is how ClearHire looks on a phone. Instead of a website shrunk to fit, you get a short top bar, a tab bar along the bottom and one main action within reach of your thumb. The words, your data and every page address are the same as on a computer; only the layout changes.

When you see the app view

ClearHire chooses the layout once, before the page appears, so nothing jumps while it loads:

  • A phone browser (a touch screen up to 767 px wide) and the Android app get the app view.
  • A tablet, a laptop or a desktop gets the web view. So does a desktop window you make narrow: it stays a responsive website, because a mouse is not a thumb.

The top bar and the tab bar

The top bar holds the ClearHire name, the Take a tour of this page button and the one appearance control. Moving around happens in the tab bar at the bottom:

Home · Tools · Resumes · Sign inDashboard · Resumes · Applications · Account

The tab you are on is marked. Onboarding (finishing your profile) shows no tab bar, so its action can sit at the bottom of the screen.

The Account sheet

Account opens a sheet from the bottom of the screen. It lists everything the workspace sidebar lists on a computer, in the same groups, with the same counts. Close it with a tap outside it or a swipe down. With a keyboard, press Escape; focus then goes back to the Account tab.

What each screen looks like

  • Home: the promise and its one action in a card, Three ways in. as a row you swipe, and Check my resume under your thumb once the first button has scrolled away.
  • Dashboard: your greeting, the one deadline that matters, and four large tiles that each open what they count. Finish your profile stays under your thumb until it is done.
  • Settings: a short list of the settings sections to jump to, then the settings in groups.
  • Sign in: one card, with the Google button low on the screen.
  • Onboarding: one step per screen, with its button pinned to the bottom.

The footer becomes one About, legal and more control. Every link in it is still there, including the sitemap and the legal pages.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the web view on my phone?

The layout follows the device: a touch screen up to 767 px wide gets the app view. On a tablet or a larger screen you get the web view.

Does the app view hide any features?

No. Every page is still there under the same address. Pages that are not on the tab bar are in the Account sheet, or are linked from the screens they belong to.

Is the Android app different from the phone website?

No. The Android app and a phone browser show the same app view, with the same words and the same data.

Does the app view change anything in my account?

No. It is only a layout. Your profile, resumes and applications are the same on every device.
