ClearHire Page Tours and the How ClearHire Works Page
ClearHire gives you two ways to learn the product without leaving it. A page tour explains the page you are on, one part at a time, and starts only when you ask. How ClearHire works is a public page that covers the whole product in six steps, each with a screenshot. Both are on the web app and on a phone.
Where the tour button is
Each page with a tour has a Take a tour of this page button in its header, just before the appearance control. It is in the same place on the public pages, the document pages and inside your workspace.
The first time you open one of those pages, a small hint points at the button: New here? Take a quick tour of this page. It shows once per page. ClearHire remembers that it has shown on this device and, when you are signed in, on your account too, so a second device does not show it again. The hint leaves by itself after a few seconds. Show me starts the tour, and the dismiss control closes the hint.
Which pages have a tour
| Page | What the tour covers |
|---|---|
| Home | What ClearHire is for, the three ways in, how a role gets confirmed, and the tools you can try before signing up |
| Dashboard | What changed since your last visit, the at-a-glance counts, your employment records and recent activity |
| Job search | The board, the filters and saved searches |
| Applications | Every job you applied for, and how to sort and narrow them |
| Resumes | Your resumes, and how many your plan holds |
| Settings | Appearance, account, notifications, AI and privacy, one section at a time |
| Pricing | The plans, every limit side by side, and how paying works |
Moving through a tour
- The step card says Step n of N. Back and Next move one step; the last step reads Done.
- All steps lists every step, so you can jump straight to the one you want.
- Skip tour, the close button, or the Escape key ends the tour at any step. You can start it again from the button at any time.
- On a phone the step card is a sheet at the bottom of the screen, and the part of the page it explains scrolls into view.
- The step number is kept in the address (
?tour=2), so you can share a link that opens a tour at a given step.
The How ClearHire works page
How ClearHire works is public, so you can read it before you create an account. Its six steps:
- Claim your roles. Add each role you held, then ask the company to countersign it. A role reads as verified only once the company has said yes. See employment verification.
- Build a resume. Start from your profile, so nothing is typed twice, then share a link or download a PDF.
- Find a job. Narrow by pay, place and kind of work, and save a search you run often.
- Track your applications. Every job you applied for, here or anywhere else.
- Use the tools. An ATS check, cover letters, the STAR method and more. Several work before you sign up.
- Pick a plan. Verified employment is on the free plan, and it stays there.
Each step has a screenshot taken at desktop and phone size, and one or two buttons that take you to that part of the
product. The current step is kept in the address (?step=3); the arrow keys and a swipe move between steps.
FAQ
Do the tours change anything in my account?
No. A tour only points at parts of the page. The one thing ClearHire stores is which pages have already shown you the hint, so it is not shown twice.
I dismissed the hint. How do I start a tour now?
Press Take a tour of this page in the header. The button stays there whether or not the hint has been shown.
Can I read How ClearHire works without signing in?
Yes. It is a public page at /how-clearhire-works. Its last step offers Create an account if you want one.
Do tours work on a phone?
Yes. The button is in the phone header too, and the steps open as a bottom sheet that fits a small screen.
