This ClearHire FAQ is a collection of plain answers to the questions people most often ask about the app — covering pricing, accounts, verification, privacy, resume formats, platforms, and account deletion. If you want depth on a specific feature, follow the links into the feature pages and guides.
Pricing and access
Does ClearHire cost anything?
There are three plans — Free, Pro and Team — and Free is a real plan rather than a trial. It covers building and exporting resumes, tracking applications, asking for employment verification, the career tools and the community, with limits on how many of some things you can hold at once. Pro and Team raise those limits; Team applies its limits to every seat in full rather than dividing them between seats.
The current figures live on the pricing page in the app, which is the only place they are authoritative — a price copied into documentation is a price that goes stale without anybody noticing.
ClearHire shows first-party promotions for the developer's other apps and uses no third-party ad networks. A separate paid white-label licence exists for organizations that want their own branded deployment; it has no effect on the public app. Supporting the project at aoneahsan.com/payment is optional and separate from any plan.
Do I need an account to use it?
Yes. Because ClearHire saves your profile, resumes, applications, and verification requests, you sign in so your data persists and syncs across devices. Sign-in is Google-only — there is no email-and-password registration. If you do not want to use a Google account, ClearHire is not usable today.
Does it cost anything for companies?
Confirming a former employee's record is free and always will be — a company is doing ClearHire a favour by answering, and charging for that would be backwards. The company side's own tools sit under the same three plans as everything else, and a company that wants its own branded deployment licenses that separately.
Verification
How does employment verification work?
You request verification of a specific role from your employer; an authorized contact confirms it; the role then shows a "Verified" badge. See employment verification and the how-to guide.
Does a Verified badge prove I was a good employee?
No. It confirms the role existed and was acknowledged by the employer. It does not rate performance, confirm salary, or validate seniority.
What happens if my employer doesn't respond?
The request has a timeout and lapses if unanswered. You can send a new request or choose a different contact — a lapsed request is not a rejection.
Privacy and data
What data does ClearHire collect?
It stores your profile, resumes, applications, reviews, and verification data, and uses providers for auth, analytics, and monitoring. See the privacy summary for specifics.
Can employers see my data?
You control what you export and send. Verification shares only what is needed with the employer you ask. Companies using talent search work within ClearHire's matching; you decide what to publish and which resumes to send.
Is my resume private?
Your profile and resumes are tied to your account. A resume becomes visible to an employer only when you send or upload it. You choose who receives it.
How do I delete my account?
Use the in-app account-deletion flow in the account or settings area, then confirm. Export your resumes first. Details: data export and deletion.

PDF or DOCX — which should I use?
Use PDF to apply (it preserves layout) and DOCX when the file needs editing. See export PDF or DOCX.
What are reviews based on?
Reviews are mutual and tied to a verified employment link, so they come from people who actually worked together. See company reviews.
Platforms
Is there an iOS app?
No. There is no iOS build, and no release date has been set. ClearHire ships on the web and Android; on an iPhone or iPad, use the web app in Safari.
Should I use the web app or the Android app?
Either — they share one account and data. Use the web app on desktop and the Android app on the go.
Is there a ClearHire browser extension?
No. There is nothing to install, and nothing pending. An early prototype existed and was never published; the rebuild left extensions out of scope entirely. See browser extensions for what to use instead.
